According to Bernward Hoffmann (born in 1955 in Paderborn, Germany), education is understood to mean the development of the mental and psychic values and abilities of a human being by means of formation and education.
Thus, education and learning in families and above all in school systems are considerably contributing factors in the mental and psychic development of children and adolescents. The consequences of this regarding a positive personal and professional shaping of the lives of our young are immense for society which means for all of us!
What is achieved beyond merely conveying knowledge is among other things, providing access to craftsmanship, technical and university training and education; the formation and development of human relations, and securing ethical and political capacity to act.
In our own country we can already clearly perceive the differences in social backgrounds and education, and we often face the resulting, negative consequences such as anti-alien feelings, violence, and terror. In a country such as Cameroon where most of the population lives in abject poverty, our help is thus sorely needed.
With building the Luca Elias Wöls Community Nursery and Primary School in Shukai, a small town to the south-east of Kumbo in Cameroon's North-West District, we support the children living there with establishing a basis for a future that is worth living.
